Hourly slots that can't overlap
Your function room books by the hour at S$80, with a two-hour minimum and a S$100 deposit. Bookings for the day are checked one at a time, so two customers can never take the same hours, even if they press book at the same moment. Keep a 30-minute gap after each booking for cleaning, and set how many hours ahead people must book, so nobody arrives tonight for a room you haven't prepared.

Deposits, cancellations and no-shows
A booking made online waits for its deposit, and if it isn't paid within two hours the hours go back on sale. Customers can cancel or move their own booking up to your notice period, but once a deposit is paid they contact you. If someone doesn't turn up, a paid deposit is kept as the fee and the booking closes. If you cancel a booking, you choose whether to keep or refund the deposit, and the books record which.
